As of January 12, 2009, all citizens of the Visa Waiver Program are necessary to obtain an ESTA travel authorization before embarking on the United States.

Who should do ESTA?
To take advantage of the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) and obtain ESTA authorization, it is necessary :
- be a citizen of one of the countries admitted to the visa-free travel program (VWP);
- that living in the United States not be more than 90 days;
- have a return ticket or to a third country from the USA;
- do not have another type of visa in progress to enter the United States (work visa, student visa, etc.).

When should I apply for an ESTA

ESTA Validity
The authorization will be valid for two years, or until the passport expires, whichever comes first. During this time, you can travel to the United States multiple times without having to request a new travel authorization.
